You cannot confine your children inside the room when it is raining outside. Rain not only brings relief after the scorching heat of summer, but it is also a beauty of nature. Most of us become attracted when water droplets start to come from behind the black clouds. Even for a little toddler, the rains will get him towards the windows and balcony and watch the falling drops with delight. Rainy season means wet road, wet and green trees, and plants all around muddy puddles here and there, and children are jumping on this puddle in Peppa Pig or Keeper the Dog style. Daycare teachers opine that elders need to take proper steps to keep their children safe in this season. Rain indeed brings funs, but they also bring some seasonal infection. To provide the best Montessori during this rainy season as well as in this pandemic situation parents must take extra initiative to keep their children and the house safe. In a primary school at City of Industry, CA, parents were seeking some tips from Montessori experts regarding the basic care of their kids. They asked which necessary measures they should take for their children during the rainy season. Some measures given by the caregivers of that kindergarten are fantastic. It is unfair to lock your children inside the room when it is raining outside. Let them drench in the natural eater. But immediately after taking the natural rain shower, send them to the bathroom to take shower in normal tank water and be sure that after taking shower they rinse properly and wear completely dry clothes. If the temperature falls in your area, encourage them to use little warm water for bathing purpose. Washing also helps to remove dust and mud from the body which may aggravate skin infection later. With moisture and dampness in the air, this season also becomes the prime time for bacterial, fungal, and viral infection. Take necessary measures like using a drier to dry hair or sprinkle any good quality talcum powder to keep the body completely dry, etc. In this particular season, it is cold and breezy outside, especially when it is raining. Keep the house and the furniture dry using the drier. Maintain the room temperature to moderate as there is a sudden change in the temperature which may affect the child’s health. Keep your house and surrounding clean. Use medicated floor cleaner to make the floor germ-free, otherwise, it may lead to diarrhea. Food plays an important part to keep your children safe in this season. Provide them warm milk or hot soups as many times as possible. This will protect them from the common cold and flu. Be sure that they are eating an adequate amount of fruits and vegetables to maintain their immune system strong. Let them enjoy the rain but keep an eye open on them so that they do not get sick. If needed do not feel hesitant to consult a physician for your children.
